Nautical Knot Tying Kit This handy Nautical Knot Tying Kit by ReferenceReady includes everything you need to practice the most essential boating and sailing knots in a pocket-sized bundle. The kit includes a waterproof, portable knot guide designed specifically for maritime scenarios, two 3' lengths of 550 cord that match the colors on the knot tying cards, and a 4" horn cleat for practicing the cleat hitch and midshipman's hitch.

The knot cards include easy-to-follow diagrams for 20 essential boating and sailing knots, along with descriptions and usage tips. All of the following knots are covered: Cleat Hitch, Halyard Hitch, Midshipman's Hitch, Clove Hitch, Half Hitch, Two Half Hitches, Round Turn and Two Half Hitches, Slippery Half Hitch, Lark's Head, Sheet Bend, Trucker's Hitch, Rolling Hitch, Buntline, Bowline, Figure 8 (Flemish Knot), Flemish Bend, Flemish Loop, Reef Knot, Carrick Bend, and Anchor Bend.

The cards are about the size of a credit card, the cleat is 4" horn tip to horn tip, and the 3' lengths of cordage are 4 mil diameter. The whole kit fits in the palm of your hand, so you can take it anywhere! Unlike a paper knot book or most phones, NautiCards are totally waterproof -- ideal for wet conditions encountered on boats.

Each knot has a step-by-step description and accompanying diagram. Cordage is colored to match the diagram colors on the cards for simplicity and clarity when practicing bend knots. Horn cleat includes an open base for practicing hitch knots.
